Job description
Soaring Technologies is a Colorado-based MSP supporting clients across education, engineering, and small-to-mid-sized businesses. We’re looking for an experienced Tier 2 Systems Administrator to help maintain, secure, and optimize our clients’ cloud-based and physical infrastructure. This role is remote 95% of the time, with occasional visits to client sites for hands-on work., * Update user permissions, mailboxes, distribution lists, shared folder access, software licensing, and onboarding/offboarding
- Manage device permissions, updates, configurations, local admin access, and MDM installs
- Administer and troubleshoot IaaS solutions on platforms like Azure
- Configure and troubleshoot MS 365, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Configure and troubleshoot email clients on desktop and mobile devices
- Maintain Windows servers (2012, 2016, 2019), including configuration, licensing, and troubleshooting
- Administer virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V
- Assist with configuring and maintaining on-premise and cloud networking, coordinating with Senior Network Engineers as needed
- Configure and maintain backups for Windows and cloud systems, and regularly test disaster recovery procedures
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and best practices
- Mentor junior team members and collaborate with the team to align IT services with client needs
Requirements
Our Tier 2 Systems Administrator will possess:
- Strong proficiency with Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and file server management
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure (Azure and/or AWS)
- The ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain language for clients and teammates
- A self-directed, self-motivated approach to managing projects
- Strong written communication skills
- Comfort supporting both MacOS and Windows-based systems
- Experience with SaaS platforms such as Office 365 or Google Workspace, including email, user, and group management
- Familiarity with cloud identity providers and/or MDM solutions
- 5+ years of experience as a Windows Server Systems Administrator and managing cloud-based infrastructure, * Windows Server administration: 5 years (Required)
- Cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS): 3 years (Required)
- Active Directory: 3 years (Required)
- PowerShell/scripting: 1 year (Preferred)
Work Location: Remote in Colorado (occasional client site visits required), * PowerShell: 1 year (Preferred)
