Job description

Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of IT, this position is responsible for developing and implementing an on-site and virtual training program for all computer-related software for the staff at The Arc of Union County. This position requires that certain certifications be obtained and updated when needed. Level 1 tech support skills are required to assist with department overflow support tickets. Assist the Assistant Director of IT and the Assistant Executive Director of IT with administrative functions of the IT department and conducts on-the-job training for agency personnel; for both the effective induction of new hires as well as, the ongoing improvement and proficiency (i.e. cross-training) of personnel within the department, by delivering on-the-job technical training on a timely basis, including new hire training on agency hardware, technology, equipment and processes basics as well as general computer lab skills training. This position will be the Therap in-house liaison to all departments responsible for., The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: verbally communicate with others, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time, lift up to 10 lbs, maneuver an occupied wheelchair, (navigate a Hoyer lift and or drive a 6 person passenger van - depending on the position). In order to effectively perform the essential functions of this role, the employee will be required to meet an array of physical demands to include ability to hear and repeat information, take notes, read documents, carry files and or paper materials and other physical duties as directed by your supervisor and/or Director. Agility with wrist and finger dexterity to access, key and sort electronic information or to file documents required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Associate degree or industry equivalent experience accepted and thorough knowledge of a variety of software, hardware and network applications.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software-related issues, equipment upgrades and ability to identify appropriate repair/replacement needs regarding assigned projects. Microsoft desktop support certification is strongly preferred.
  • A certified Therap training certificate is required and mandated to stay current.

This position requires standing and walking of up to of a given work day along with a daily routine bending and or stooping. Ability to read, write, key information into a computer and to make educated and informed decisions is a requirement for this position.
