Job description

As a _nology consultant, you’ll join a community of early-career technology professionals, receiving ongoing mentoring, training, and support from a dedicated onsite manager while gaining hands-on experience with leading organisations delivering critical public sector projects.

There will be a short training remotely with _nology preparing you for the client project, providing you with the skills needed to be successful in your new tech career. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in DevOps and cloud technologies. You’ll be supported to develop your technical skills while working alongside experienced teams in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

After successful completion of training and starting the client project the starting salary is £ 26,700 with payrises at 6-months and 12-months based on performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based environments
  • Working alongside development and engineering teams to improve delivery processes
  • Assisting with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Monitoring applications and infrastructure to help maintain service performance and reliability
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and supporting incident resolution
  • Applying DevOps best practices across software delivery, infrastructure, and cloud platforms
  • Collaborating within agile teams to support project delivery

Requirements

If you’ve completed a tech bootcamp or have less than a year’s experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure, or platform engineering, this could be the perfect next step in your career., We’re looking for early-career candidates who can demonstrate knowledge or exposure to:

  • DevOps principles and practices
  • Cloud platforms, particularly AWS
  • Infrastructure and deployment concepts
  • Version control tools such as Git
  • Linux environments and command-line tools
  • Scripting or automation using tools such as Bash, Python, or similar technologies
  • CI/CD concepts and automation pipelines
  • Monitoring, logging, or observability tools

You do not need deep commercial experience. We’re interested in candidates who have built foundational DevOps knowledge through bootcamps, personal projects, internships, placements, or early professional experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Located in Newcastle or within a 1-hour commutable distance
  • Training is remote and successful candidates after training will be required to attend an office min. 3 days a week
  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance, or able to meet clearance requirements
  • Strong communication, professional and collaborative skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning and developing within a professional technology environment
  • Immediate availability for full time training, * Coding bootcamp graduates with hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud technologies, infrastructure, or automation, OR STEM graduates from disciplines such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or related fields who are eager to build a career in DevOps.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices through academic work, commercial experience, bootcamps, internships, placements, or personal projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (preferred), or a willingness to develop cloud platform expertise.
  • An understanding of concepts such as CI/CD, infrastructure, automation, version control, or Linux environments.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, Java, or similar technologies would be beneficial.
  • A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance, or able to meet security clearance requirements.
