  • Supporting the operation of UPS systems, generators, switchgear and power distribution equipment.
  • Coordinating specialist contractors and service providers.
  • Assisting with infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacement and capacity expansion.
  • Supporting commissioning, testing and handover activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records within maintenance-management systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with site procedures, electrical regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Contributing to business-continuity and emergency-response procedures.

Relevant systems may include:

  • Uninterruptible power supplies.
  • Standby generators.
  • Low-voltage and high-voltage switchgear.
  • Transformers and power distribution units.
  • Automatic transfer switches.
  • Battery systems.
  • Building-management and electrical-monitoring systems.
  • Earthing, protection and control equipment.

Your experience

We are interested in speaking with Electrical Engineers from backgrounds including:

  • Data centres.
  • Critical facilities.
  • Hospitals or healthcare estates.
  • Airports.
  • Banking or financial infrastructure.
  • Telecommunications.
  • Power generation.
  • Industrial or manufacturing facilities.
  • High-voltage electrical maintenance.

Requirements

  • A recognised electrical engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
  • Experience maintaining or operating complex electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with planned preventive maintenance systems.
  • A good understanding of electrical safety and isolation procedures.
  • The confidence to work in a high-availability operational environment.

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

  • HV or LV Authorised Person duties.
  • Data centre operational standards.
  • UPS and generator maintenance.
  • Critical switching procedures.
  • Building-management systems.
