Job description

Immediate need for a talented EDI Developer - IBM ITX (ANSI X12) Transportation. This is a 04+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Hopkins, MN (Hybrid). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested., * Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain IBM ITX maps and integration solutions.

  • Analyze business and EDI requirements and translate them into technical designs and ITX mapping specifications.
  • Develop and maintain ANSI X12 transaction maps supporting transportation and logistics workflows.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing IBM ITX maps and integration processes.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, EDI analysts, solution architects, and trading partners to implement new integrations.
  • Perform impact analysis for new customer onboarding, trading partner changes, and regulatory updates.
  • Support production environments by diagnosing mapping failures, data validation issues, and transaction processing errors.
  • Create reusable mapping components and establish best practices for IBM ITX development.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design reviews, and architecture discussions.
  • Develop unit tests and support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployments.
  • Document technical designs, mapping logic, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on EDI and IBM ITX best practices.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and operational standards

Requirements

  • Key Skills;IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX), IBM ITX Map Development, ANSI X12 EDI, Transportation EDI Transactions- 204, 210, 214, 990, 997/999, 820, B2B Integration Protocols, EDI Validation & Troubleshooting, Data Transformation & Integration.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise integration solutions.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX).
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining IBM ITX maps.
  • Deep understanding of ANSI X12 EDI standards.
  • Experience working with transportation and logistics EDI transactions, including:
  • 204 Motor Carrier Load Tender
  • 210 Motor Carrier Freight Details and Invoice
  • 214 Transportation Carrier Shipment Status Message
  • 990 Response to Load Tender
  • 997/999 Functional Acknowledgments
  • 820 Payment Order/Remittance Advice
  • 856 Advance Ship Notice (preferred)
  • Experience integrating with AS2, SFTP, FTP, MQ, REST APIs, or other B2B communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding of EDI validation, acknowledgments, envelopes (ISA/GS/ST), and partner-specific implementation guides.
  • Experience troubleshooting production EDI issues and transaction failures.
  • Familiarity with XML, JSON, CSV, and flat-file transformations.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Java, Python, or scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Transportation Domain Experience

Benefits & conditions

Pay Range: $50 - $55/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
