Scopely is seeking a highly motivatedData Governance Expertto join our Playgami team in Barcelona!At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to encourage play every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues or through our deep connections with our communities of players.We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing, and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people worldwide daily.Playgami is building the best SaaS gaming platform ever!The team strives to build the worldâs best products for game production, operation, and insights.Powering many award-winning, loved-by-millions franchise games over mobile, web, and PC.What Youâll DoThis role is for an expert who can build and run an enterprise-scale data governance program for a global EDW, with strong fluency across Security, Compliance, and Legal.You will not be hands?on technical, but you will influence technical teams to implement governance rules and controls, and you will chair a complex, globally distributed Data Governance Council.Support the execution of Scopelyâs data governance strategy for the global data warehouseWork closely with Security, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and data teams to translate requirements into clear and actionable policiesHelp define and implement governance frameworks such as data classification, PII handling, access control, and data lifecycle managementCollaborate with engineering teams to ensure governance policies are implemented correctly in data platformsContribute to access governance processes, including approvals, reviews, and monitoringHelp maintain documentation, decision logs, and governance guidelines to ensure transparency and consistencyIdentify risks related to data usage and support mitigation plans with clear trackingAssist in improving processes, templates, and training materials to increase adoption across teamsSupport governance needs for new projects, tools, and integrations, including emerging areas like AI usageParticipate in governance forums and working groups, contributing to decisions and alignmentContribute to defining data ownership and accountability across datasetsSupport the implementation of data classification and sensitivity modelsHelp ensure appropriate use of sensitive data based on business needsAssist in defining and applying data lifecycle policies, such as retention and archivingCollaborate with stakeholders to balance data access, risk, and business valueWhat Weâre Looking For4 to 7 years of experience in data governance, data management, privacy, compliance, or related areasGood understanding of data security and privacy concepts, such as PII handling, access control, and auditabilityExperience working with data teams to implement policies in real systemsAbility to translate requirements into practical solutions with technical teamsStrong collaboration skills and ability to work across different teams and functionsPragmatic mindset, you focus on solutions that work in real environmentsClear communication skills, both written and verbalComfortable working in fast?paced environments with evolving needsNice to HaveExperience with modern data platforms such as BigQuery or SnowflakeFamiliarity with IAM concepts and BI toolsExposure to regulated environments or sensitive data domainsExperience working in multi?team or global organizationsEmployment at Scopely is based solely on a personâs merit and qualifications.Scopely does not discriminate against any employee or applicant because of race, creed, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding), or any other basis protected by law.We also consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law.#J-*****-Ljbffr
Requirements
4 to 7 years of experience in data governance, data management, privacy, compliance, or related areas Good understanding of data security and privacy concepts, such as PII handling, access control, and auditability Experience working with data teams to implement policies in real systems Ability to translate requirements into practical solutions with technical teams Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across different teams and functions Pragmatic mindset, you focus on solutions that work in real environments Clear communication skills, both written and verbal Comfortable working in fast?paced environments with evolving needs Nice to Have Experience with modern data platforms such as BigQuery or Snowflake Familiarity with IAM concepts and BI tools Exposure to regulated environments or sensitive data domains Experience working in multi?team or global organizations
