R&D Scientist - Ultrafast Laser Processing & 3D Manufacturing SoftwareLocation:Madrid, SpainAbout LASING MicrosystemsLASING Microsystems develops high-end ultrafast laser micromachining platforms for research institutions and industrial R&D worldwide.Our systems are used in applications including photonics, microfluidics, biomedical engineering, advanced packaging, precision manufacturing and quantum technologies.We are looking for anR&D Scientist (PhD)to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of the next generation of laser-based manufacturing technologies for transparent materials.This position combinesexperimental research,optical system developmentandscientific software development, offering the opportunity to work from fundamental process optimization through to implementation in industrial-grade laser platforms.Main ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize ultrafast laser processing techniques for transparent materials, including Selective Laser Etching (SLE).Design and optimize advanced optical systems for laser micromachining.Develop new manufacturing strategies for complex three-dimensional structures.Contribute to the development of LASING’s proprietary software for advanced 3D laser manufacturing, including toolpath generation, process automation and manufacturing optimization.Design and perform experimental campaigns, analyse results and validate new processing strategies.Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams in optics, mechanics, electronics and software.Publish scientific results and represent LASING at international conferences and technical meetings when appropriate.Candidate ProfileApplicants must hold aPhDin Physics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related disciplinebefore the starting date.A strong background in experimental research and applied technology development is expected.Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly valued:Design, alignment and optimization of optical systems.Advanced beam engineering (Bessel beams, beam shaping, SLMs, axicons, etc.).Scientific software development and laboratory automation.Algorithms for 2D/3D toolpath generation and motion planning.Motion control systems and scientific instrumentation.Optical characterization and metrology.Programming in C#, C++ and/or Python.Additional experience with CAD/CAM, machine vision, image processing, computational geometry or advanced manufacturing software will be considered an advantage.What We OfferPermanent integration into the R&D team of an innovative high-technology company.Opportunity to contribute directly to the development of next-generation laser manufacturing platforms.Access to state-of-the-art ultrafast laser systems and advanced laboratory facilities.A multidisciplinary and highly collaborative working environment.International collaborations with leading research institutions and industrial partners.Continuous professional development and opportunities to attend international conferences.#J-*****-Ljbffr

Requirements

A strong background in experimental research and applied technology development is expected. Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly valued: Design, alignment and optimization of optical systems.
