Job description

This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, building prototypes quickly, and working in collaborative technical environments. You’‘ll spend more time in algorithm discussions and whiteboard sessions than in deployment pipelines or enterprise software maintenance.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3-5 years of industry experience in software engineering or related R&D work
  • Strong proficiency in either Python or C++
  • Strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Linux and Git proficiency *

  • Must be located in the Greater Minneapolis area

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to machine learning, signal processing, or scientific computing
  • Experience in technical or research-driven environments
  • Familiarity with high-performance or low-latency systems
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous R&D environment
  • Familiarity with Mathematica a plus

We’‘re looking for engineers who are curious, technically sharp, collaborative, and capable of turning concepts into working prototypes quickly.

Benefits & conditions

This is an onsite role in Minneapolis working directly with a small, technical team. Due to program requirements, this role requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility to work in a NOFORN (No Foreign Nationals) environment.

Compensation: $95,000-$125,000, based on experience

What You’‘ll Be Doing

  • Rapid prototyping and exploratory software development
  • Collaborating directly with technical leadership on advanced concepts and algorithm development
  • Participating in frequent whiteboard and technical design sessions
  • Building research-oriented tools and proof-of-concept implementations
  • Working primarily in Python and/or C++ in Linux environments
  • Contributing to technical R&D efforts involving data analysis, machine learning, and high-performance computation
