Job Reference 349_26_CS_STAR_R2Job Title Researcher - Star-TRU-STACK_RUNTIME (R2)Overview The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) is a leading supercomputing institution in Spain, operating MareNostrum, one of Europe’s most powerful supercomputers.The Position focuses on the System Tools and Advanced Runtimes (STAR) group, exploring research across multiple layers of the system software stack to support complex workloads such as HPC, AI and data analytics on parallel HPC and cloud platforms.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and evaluate extensions to system libraries and runtime systems for parallel workloads.Contribute to the development and maintenance of Task?Aware libraries and low?level APIs used by parallel applications and runtimes.Integrate runtimes and system?level mechanisms with programming models such as OpenMP, OmpSs?2 and other parallel frameworks.Lead or coordinate technical tasks within European and industrial projects when required.QualificationsEducation:PhD in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.Essential Knowledge & Experience:Strong experience in operating systems, runtime systems, system libraries or low?level systems software; excellent C/C++ programming skills; experience with OpenMP, OmpSs?2, CUDA, system programming, pthreads, threading libraries, scheduling mechanisms or low?level runtime support.Competences:Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks and work under deadlines and pressure; ability to work independently and in a team; motivation to contribute to high?quality research software and publish results in competitive venues.ConditionsLocation: BSC, Computer Sciences Department.Contract: Full?time (35 h/week), open?ended due to project and budget duration.Working hours: Flexible within the 35?hour framework.Benefits: State?of?the?art infrastructure, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support for relocation procedures.Holidays: 22 days of vacation + 6 personal days + public holidays per collective agreement.Salary: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and aligned with the cost of living in Barcelona.Starting date: 1 August **.Diversity & InclusionWe promote equity, diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where each individual is appreciated regardless of differences.BSC?CNS is an equal?opportunity employer; we consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability or any other basis protected by applicable law.#J-***-Ljbffr

Requirements
