Project OverviewIndustry Sector:Space & Telecommunications Infrastructure Contract Status:Long-term, highly competitive daily rateWe are seeking an experiencedData Centre / Data Backbone Senior Engineerto spearhead the infrastructure architecture for a next-generation, multi-orbit satellite Ground Segment.This project focuses on the seamless integration of terrestrial data centres with high-throughput satellite constellations.You will be responsible for defining the technical requirements and overseeing the end-to-end implementation of the data backbone, virtualization environments, and core network subsystems.Project OverviewThe description above is retained as core context for the role.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine comprehensive IT, Network, Data Centre, and virtualization requirements tailored for a multi-orbit satellite Ground Segment.Architect the high-level software and hardware strategy for the data backbone, ensuring scalability and high availability.Develop detailed implementation, integration, and verification/test plans for all core subsystems.Infrastructure & IntegrationOversee the physical and logical design of the data centre infrastructure, including high-performance switching and network configurations.Manage and optimize virtualization environments and cloud platforms to support mission-critical ground segment operations.Lead Linux-based system administration and configuration management across the infrastructure stack.Subcontractor & Lifecycle ManagementProvide rigorous technical oversight of subcontractor activities, ensuring full compliance with design requirements and development standards.Validate subcontractor subsystems and lead the high-level integration of these components into the wider Ground Segment architecture.Act as the technical bridge between high-level system requirements and ground-level execution.RequirementsEducation:Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Experience:3-5 years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry.Infrastructure Expertise:Demonstrated strength in hardware and network infrastructure design.Technical Skills:Advanced experience in switch and network configuration.Expert-level knowledge of virtualization environment management and cloud platforms.Strong proficiency in Linux administration.Project Management:Proven experience in managing complex technology projects and subcontractor relationships.Domain Knowledge:Solid understanding of satellite communications and Ground Segment architectures.Please apply here by submitting your up-to-date CV and preferred contact numbers in order to be considered for this high-impact, long-term opportunity.#J-*****-Ljbffr
