About the TeamThe Infrastructure team at Spendesk builds the tools, systems, and internal products that empower every engineering team to move faster and more safely. We are transforming traditional infrastructure into adeveloper-facing platformfocused onenablement, automation, and scalability.We own CI/CD platform (ArgoCD and Github Actions), secrets management, observability tooling, infrastructure provisioning, and developer workflows. Our work is foundational to the productivity and reliability of the entire product organization.About The RoleAs aSenior Platform Engineer, you’ll help define and deliver the next generation of internal tooling and infrastructure at Spendesk. You’ll be hands-on in designing scalable systems, collaborating with engineering peers, and productizing shared services used by dozens of engineers across the company.What You’ll DoAs aSenior Platform Engineer at Spendesk, you’ll help shape the foundation that every engineering team builds on. You’ll work hands-on withKubernetes, Go, and AWSto create scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly systems that power our internal platform.Here’s how you’ll make an impact:Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure servicesincluding provisioning workflows, service orchestration, and deployment automation using Kubernetes, Go, and cloud-native toolsOwn and evolve our CI/CD platform, improving performance, reliability, and usability, with a focus on fast feedback, secure secrets handling, and smooth rollback supportDevelop service scaffolding and templatesthat allow product teams to spin up production-ready services in minutes with consistent tooling, observability, and security baked inLead the technical rollout of our Service Orchestrator, a new internal product aimed at simplifying infrastructure provisioning across squadsImprove our observability tooling and incident response workflows, building custom dashboards and refining alerting systems to reduce noise and improve reliabilityPartner closely with product engineers and EMsto identify recurring friction in development workflows and turn those into reusable, documented platform solutionsTake technical ownership of key platform domains, such as secrets management, infrastructure as code, monitoring pipelines, or cost visibility toolingChampion internal adoptionof platform capabilities by writing excellent documentation, creating onboarding guides, and supporting team usage through async support and office hoursParticipate in our on-call rotation, using that insight to continuously reduce toil through automation, self-healing systems, and smarter alert routingWho you areAstrong individual contributor with a platform mindset-someone who enjoys solving developer pain with elegant, scalable systems and takes pride in enabling others to move faster.You’re a fit for this role if you have:7+ years of engineering experience, with a strong track record in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform roles supporting multiple engineering teamsHands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments, including designing and debugging containerized services at scaleFluency in Go (Golang) OR Typescript,you’ve built tooling, services, or operators that run reliably in productionProficiency with AWSand a solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or a similar toolExperience building internal tooling or platformsused across multiple teams -bonus if you’ve owned adoption, documentation, or supportAbias for automation,you replace playbooks with code and eliminate toil wherever possibleAproduct mindset,you empathize with your users (other developers), gather feedback, and treat internal systems like customer-facing productsStrong written and verbal communication skills, clear documentation and async updates are second nature to youA love for clean abstractions, scalable systems, and improving developer workflowsFluent inEnglish(spoken and written) - it’s our business language.Nice to haveExperience designing or maintainingservice scaffolding systems(templates,boilerplates, code generators)Familiarity withCI/CD pipeline design, especially trunk-based workflows, rollback strategies, and secure secret handlingHands-on work withmonitoring and observability stacks(e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)Knowledge ofSLOs, alerting strategy, and incident tooling (e.g., PagerDuty, alert routing)Exposure tocost visibility and optimization toolingwithin AWS or other cloud platformsComfort operating inregulated or compliance-sensitive environments(e.g., fintech, GDPR?Contributions toopen-source DevOps or platform toolingFamiliarity withplatform metrics frameworkslike DORA, internal NPS, ordeveloper satisfaction surveysProven ability to influencecross-team technical initiativesor onboard other engineers to shared toolsExperience navigatingfast-growing SaaSor product engineering orgs with 50? developersOur tech stackLanguages:Go (primary), Python (scripts/tools), BashCloud:AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.)Infrastructure:Kubernetes (production), Terraform (IaC), Helm, GitHub ActionsCI/CD:GitHub Actions, ArgoCDObservability:DatadogSecrets & Config:VaultMonitoring & Alerting:PagerDuty, custom alert routing, dashboardsInternal Dev Platform:Service Orchestrator, service scaffolding templatesDocs & Collaboration:Notion, Slack, Jira
