Job description
The Dynamics 365 Solutions Architect will work with the M365 Solutions Architect and be the technical lead responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting end-to-end Dynamics 365 solutions across the organization. This role blends architecture, development, and migration expertise, ensuring that Dynamics 365 and its connected systems (SharePoint, Power Platform, Azure, etc.) operate securely, efficiently, and in alignment with business goals., Architecture & Design
- Lead the creation of high-level and detailed solution designs for Dynamics 365 deployments.
- Define integration patterns (API, OData, Azure Service Bus, Copilot/AI, Logic Apps).
- Ensure designs comply with security, compliance, and governance standards.
Implementation & Development
- Develop customizations (C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Power Apps components).
- Write reusable code libraries, APIs, and connector modules.
- Configure and test workflows, business rules, and model-driven apps.
PowerShell & Automation
- Build, maintain, and run PowerShell scripts for environment provisioning, data migration, and automated monitoring.
- Integrate scripts with Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD.
SharePoint Migration
- Lead migrations from legacy SharePoint or other content repositories to SharePoint Online.
- Design data mapping, metadata, and governance models.
- Coordinate with migration tools (ShareGate, Metalogix, PowerShell) and validate data integrity.
Support & Operations
- Provide tier-2/3 support for Dynamics 365 incidents.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend permanent fixes.
- Monitor system health using Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Power Platform Admin Center.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with business analysts, functional SMEs, and end-users to capture requirements.
- Present solution designs and progress to executive stakeholders.
Documentation & Training
- Produce architecture diagrams, technical specs, and user documentation.
- Deliver knowledge-transfer sessions and “train-the-trainer” workshops.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies (Copilot, AI Builder, Dynamics 365 Insights) for potential adoption.
- Recommend process improvements and best-practice frameworks.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems integration?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Education - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Technical Expertise - 7+ years in Dynamics 365 architecture and implementation (Finance & Operations, Sales, Customer Service, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Dynamics 365 and SharePoint.
- Proven track record of SharePoint Online migrations ( 100,000 documents).
- Expertise in Dynamics 365 customization (model-driven apps, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Familiarity with Azure services (Entra ID/AAD, Logic Apps, Functions, API Management).
- Experience with data migration tools (KingswaySoft, Scribe, X++ Data Export/Import frameworks).
- Certifications - Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (or equivalent); Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker or Developer. [Optional]
- Soft Skills - Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Availability - Part-time commitment (15-25 hrs / week) with flexibility for evenings or weekends as needed.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in finance, healthcare, manufacturing, or large retail environments.
- Advanced integration experience.
- Automation & DevOps skills (Git, Azure DevOps pipelines, IaC).
- Prior leadership or mentoring of junior developers.
Working Conditions & Flexibility:
- Remote-First - All core responsibilities can be performed remotely; occasional on-site visits for key client engagements or training. PDT/PST preferred.
- Flexible Hours - Part-time schedule tailored to your availability; core “business hours” for collaboration (8 am-5 pm PDT/PST) are required.
- Project-Based Engagement - Work may be defined by milestones (e.g., migration phases, implementation sprints).
- Path to Full-Time - Successful performance and business growth may lead to a permanent full-time role with expanded responsibilities and benefits.
Notes:
1099 preferred. Must be a US Citizen. Prior entrepreneurial experience favored. Interview will include Visual Studio 2022/2026.
