Job description

This Backend Engineering team faces genuinely hard problems every day, from securing live cloud infrastructure at scale to building the systems that detect and respond to threats in real time. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will own features end to end, from initial design through to production, working across a modern stack spanning every major cloud provider. You will sit close to Frontend and DevOps, contribute directly to architecture decisions, and see your work protecting real customer infrastructure within weeks, not years., * Own the entire lifecycle of your projects, from design and development through to deployment, monitoring and maintenance in production

  • Contribute to technical and architectural decisions across the backend
  • Conduct design and code reviews with your team
  • Analyse and improve the efficiency, scalability and stability of backend system components
  • Collaborate closely with Frontend and DevOps to ship best-in-class features

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in backend engineering using a high-level language such as Go, Java, C#, Python or Node.js
  • Experience with cloud platforms and products (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • Experience implementing data-intensive systems (databases, event systems, messaging systems)
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
  • Experience with microservices-based architecture
  • BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field

Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, Neo4j, ElasticSearch, Redis, TimescaleDB or RabbitMQ
  • A genuine interest in cloud security and how attackers think
