Job description

This role is designed for engineers who are passionate about building high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software solutions. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and continuous improvement. The position combines strong Java backend expertise with modern Angular frontend development in a collaborative engineering environment. You will work with advanced development practices, including Extreme Programming, test-driven development, and continuous delivery. By embracing AI-powered engineering workflows, you will help accelerate development while maintaining strong standards of quality and craftsmanship. This opportunity is ideal for developers who value technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning. Accountabilities

The Software Craftsperson will take ownership of feature development and contribute to building reliable software products through disciplined engineering practices and close collaboration.

  • Own feature-level design, development, testing, and delivery across backend and frontend applications.
  • Build clean, maintainable, and scalable software using modern engineering principles and best practices.
  • Develop backend services using Java while applying strong object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
  • Create responsive and scalable frontend applications using Angular and TypeScript.
  • Participate in product teams that manage the full development lifecycle, from technical decisions to production delivery.
  • Apply Extreme Programming practices such as pair programming, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and test-first development.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business and user needs.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, identify issues early, and enhance engineering workflows.
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated code to ensure correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to engineering improvements, knowledge sharing, and mentoring within the team.
  • Participate in modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD workflows and collaborative software development processes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a software engineer with strong Java and Angular experience, a passion for software craftsmanship, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative remote environment.

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing applications with Java.
  • Strong knowledge of Java fundamentals, object-oriented programming, design principles, and design patterns.
  • Experience working with Java frameworks such as Micronaut or Spring.
  • Solid understanding of Java Collections, multithreading concepts, and Hibernate ORM.
  • Experience using build tools such as Gradle or Maven.
  • Ability to write effective unit tests using JUnit.
  • Hands-on experience developing scalable applications with Angular and TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of Angular concepts, including components, state management, data binding, routing, directives, and pipes.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Experience working with relational databases and fundamental SQL concepts.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP), RxJS, Microsoft Azure, observability, and monitoring practices is a plus.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Augment, or Claude Code.
  • Ability to apply prompt engineering techniques and assess AI-generated code quality.
  • Strong ownership mindset, communication skills, curiosity, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Benefits & conditions

  • Fully remote, remote-first work environment with structured flexibility.
  • Opportunity to work with modern engineering practices focused on software craftsmanship and AI-native development.
  • Twice-yearly in-person coworking sprints with travel expenses covered.
  • Annual team retreat with covered travel costs.
  • Dedicated learning and development budget.
  • Conference participation and speaking sponsorship opportunities.
  • Comprehensive medical and term insurance coverage.
