Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Design & Development team, helping to develop the next generation of handheld test equipment and cloud-connected software solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies across embedded Linux, C++, Qt and Microsoft Azure, developing products that are used globally.

What you’ll be doing

As part of our collaborative engineering team, you’ll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment and ongoing product enhancement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing C++ applications for Linux-based handheld network test equipment.
  • Creating intuitive user interfaces using Qt (Widgets and/or Qt Quick/QML).
  • Developing cloud-connected functionality supporting our AnyWARE Cloud platform.
  • Designing and developing services hosted within Microsoft Azure.
  • Implementing REST API integrations between products and cloud services.
  • Applying secure software development and cybersecurity-by-design principles.
  • Supporting compliance with the RED Cybersecurity requirements and Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
  • Contributing to software architecture, code reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Working with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Requirements

Essential

  • Commercial software development experience using C and C++.
  • Strong experience developing applications with Qt.
  • Linux or Embedded Linux development experience.
  • Experience developing cloud-connected products or services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based architectures.
  • Experience using Git, GitHub, GitLab or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative approach with a passion for developing high-quality software.

Desirable

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Python
  • ASP.NET / C#
  • React or Node.js
  • Qt Quick / QML
  • GitLab CI/CD
  • Linux driver development
  • SaaS and cloud-hosted applications
  • Machine Learning
  • Networking technologies including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, VLAN, IP, ARP, LLDP, SNMP and MIBs
  • Network testing and measurement products
