Job description

  • Design, implement, and maintain ground control features for unmanned vehicles.
  • Extend and customise existing ground control applications and tooling.
  • Implement configuration control mechanisms for vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain structured configuration and mission data formats.
  • Integrate and visualise real-time telemetry and vehicle state.
  • Implement and maintain reliable communications links to vehicles.
  • Support field testing, debugging, and operational deployment.

Requirements

  • Configuration control for software and vehicle parameters.
  • Structured data formats: JSON, GeoJSON, YAML.
  • Map-based visualisation and mission planning systems.
  • MAVLink or similar telemetry/command protocols.
  • Qt (including Qt Widgets or QML)
  • Linux development and deployment environments.
  • Network communications: TCP, UDP, UART/Serial.
  • Proficiency in one or more C-like languages: C, C#, C++.
  • Strong modern Python skill-set.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with unmanned or autonomous systems (aerial, ground, or marine vehicles).
  • Familiarity with real-time or safety-critical systems.
  • Experience extending open-source software.
