Job description

  • Develop and implement complex software capabilities using Java, Spring, and AI agents for feature and test development.
  • Work with Linux, Git, Nexus, Maven, NiFi, Kafka, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and CICD pipelines.
  • Manage distributed, NoSQL, and full-text search databases including Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and Trinio.
  • Utilize Python, Javascript, Vue.js for web UI development.
  • Apply Agile methodologies with JIRA and Confluence., * Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems.
  • Develop Java-based software capabilities using modern frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spring, Guava).
  • Utilize Next-Gen Coding Agents (e.g., Claude Code, Gemini) for multi-file feature implementations, complex codebase refactoring, and automated test generation.
  • Guide AI agents through complex application architectures, manage context, and critically audit agent-generated code for security, performance, and architectural alignment.
  • Design enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and implement Microservices architecture using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms.
  • Apply agile software development methodologies and use standard tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise).
  • Work with Linux operating systems and configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven).
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
  • Gain experience with NiFi, Kafka, AWS Infrastructure, Azure, and Kubernetes.
  • Manage distributed databases, NoSQL databases, and full-text search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch, Postgres, Trino).
  • Develop scripting solutions (e.g., Python, Flask) and web UI with frameworks (e.g., Vue).
  • Build Docker images and implement CICD pipelines.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and in a team setting.

Telework: This role supports a hybrid work environment, requiring an average of 1-2 days per week on-site in Columbia, MD.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years relevant experience; Master’s degree in a related field with 3+ years relevant experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 9+ years relevant experience.
  • Total Compensation: $224k+ yearly
