Job description
HealthPartners is hiring a Manager, Windows Infrastructure. This role leads HealthPartners’ Windows Administration function, ensuring the resources, tools, and processes are in place to support and continuously improve enterprise infrastructure operations. The manager supports the team by providing clear direction, effective training, and ongoing coaching and mentoring aligned with defined roles and responsibilities.
In partnership with colleagues across IT, this role contributes to the development of infrastructure strategy, process improvement initiatives, and the delivery of reliable, efficient, and scalable infrastructure services that support organizational goals.
Reporting to the Director of Technical Infrastructure Services, this position manages thirteen professionals supporting both on-prem and cloud-based platforms. This role plays a critical part in maintaining daytoday operational stability and supporting future infrastructure needs, serving as a key leadership position within the technical infrastructure organization., Manages deliverables, workflows, and the professional development of resources within the Windows group.
Manages staff; providing yearly performance reviews and establishing staff goals that enable professional development; hiring and terminating staff as needed.
Develops and reviews budgets; ensuring guidelines and objectives are maintained throughout the year, preparing monthly variance report analysis including the documentation and validation of threshold variances.
Formulates tactics and strategy to drive down ongoing maintenance costs.
Completes feasibility studies and determines time and cost estimates, productivity levels, capacity needs, and security needs, maintaining metrics reporting, monitoring trends, and providing analysis and proposals to Senior Management for potential infrastructure needs, issues, and improvements.
Creates and manages Windows Server and workstation patching processes and application deployment processes, reviewing tools and automation options.
Determines upgrade requirements as needed.
Partners with Infrastructure Leadership to develop capacity, availability, and technology strategies in alignment with the growth of HealthPartners’ services, vision, and goals.
Manages Infrastructure Projects and project participation; ensuring resources with the appropriate experience, knowledge, and skill sets are assigned appropriately.
Develops, reviews, and maintains operating level requirements and agreements.
Participates in negotiations and reviews and investigates agreements to ensure HealthPartners’ best interests are represented and the underpinning architecture is uncompromised.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor Degree
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Eight (8) years of experience performing Windows administration (installation, configuration, performance tuning, optimization) or equivalent IT infrastructure experience.
Five (5) years of experience with virtual server infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to develop, motivate, and lead successful teams.
Strong understanding of software and system development methodologies
Excellent customer service acumen
Strong knowledge of Windows server operating systems
Proficient use of Microsoft tools; including Outlook, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate difficult or complex issues and concepts to a wide variety of audiences.
Excellent critical thinking skills
Expert understanding of capacity plan development and implementation
Strong project delivery management skills
Experience with and understanding budget development and financial review.
Staff supervision and management; understanding general Human Resources guidelines and principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years of proven people management and staff supervision experience.
Ten (10) or more years of progressive experience in information technology and/or the healthcare industry.
Demonstrated ability to develop technical professionals and junior technical leaders.
