Manager - IT Infrastructure

Hospital system is seeking a hands-on Manager, IT Infrastructure to lead the organization’s enterprise infrastructure team supporting critical clinical and business operations across the health system. This leadership role is responsible for managing enterprise systems, servers, virtualization, networking, virtual desktop infrastructure, and on-premises data center operations while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership experience and a passion for mentoring teams, establishing operational standards, and driving infrastructure excellence. This individual will play a key role in modernizing infrastructure operations, improving consistency through change management and governance, and supporting the organization’s continued technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 10 Infrastructure professionals responsible for systems, servers, virtualization, and networking.
• Oversee enterprise infrastructure supporting three on-premises data centers and a hybrid technology environment.
• Manage VMware virtualization, Windows Server infrastructure, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and related enterprise technologies.
• Provide technical leadership for infrastructure projects, system upgrades, maintenance, and operational support.
• Develop and enforce infrastructure standards, documentation, change management processes, and operational best practices.
• Partner with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic technology initiatives and organizational goals.
• Ensure the availability, security, and performance of enterprise infrastructure supporting clinical and business applications.
• Assist with infrastructure troubleshooting and escalations while remaining engaged in technical problem solving when needed.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience leading technical infrastructure teams.
• Strong background managing enterprise systems, virtualization, networking, and server infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success leading technical teams in a medium to large enterprise environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Healthcare IT infrastructure leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting multiple enterprise data centers.
• Experience with VMware Cloud Director (Broadcom) preferred.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles, operational governance, and change management best practices.
• Experience implementing infrastructure standards and improving operational maturity.
• Experience supporting highly available virtual infrastructure environments.
