Job description

We’re seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team supporting the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

This is not a traditional software development role. You’ll help develop advanced software and algorithms that automate intelligence workflows, process complex sensor data, and support technical intelligence analysis for national security missions. The work focuses on research, rapid prototyping, algorithm development, and transitioning capabilities into operational environments.

What You’ll Do

As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain software solutions supporting automated intelligence analysis. Research and develop algorithms for extracting information from Persistent Infrared (PIR) sensor data. Build automated workflows that improve data processing, target identification, and object tracking. Develop software to process large volumes of sensor and analytical data. Create tools that characterize, discriminate, and track targets of interest. Develop image-processing and feature-extraction algorithms. Integrate software into existing Government analytical platforms. Conduct software testing, validation, verification, and performance analysis. Collaborate with Government engineers, intelligence analysts, and technical subject matter experts. Produce technical documentation, software documentation, and source code supporting mission delivery., Successful candidates are comfortable solving difficult technical problems rather than simply maintaining existing applications. You’ll work closely with engineers and analysts to transform complex sensor data into automated workflows that improve intelligence production and mission effectiveness.
