Sr Software Engineer- Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps

Experteer Overview In this role you will deliver complete SDLC solutions for Venmo’s production systems, guiding junior engineers and advising management. You’ll own architecture decisions with minimal supervision, applying industry best practices to build scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance deployment, automation, and incident response. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving quality and resilience at scale. You’ll contribute to a culture of innovation and inclusion while shaping Venmo’s cloud platform. Compensation / Benefits * Deliver end-to-end SDLC solutions (design, implementation, testing, delivery, operations) * Advise management on project-level issues and guide junior engineers * Operate with limited supervision and apply industry best practices * Develop and maintain infrastructure as code and automation * Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, implement preventive measures * Lead by example to improve engineering teams’ production operations * Contribute to scalability and reliability of AWS cloud infrastructure * Coordinate design, stakeholders, risks, and timely project delivery Tasks * 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with a Bachelor’s degree * 5+ years in software development or related field * 3+ years operating distributed applications 24x7x365 in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or SRE * Extensive hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS-based infrastructure * Deep experience with IaaS and PaaS on AWS or similar cloud * Hands-on programming/scripting in Python, Java, Bash, Go * Hands-on with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) * Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences Key requirements * hybrid work model * healthcare coverage * paid time off * equity or incentive compensation * financial security resources * inclusive and flexible culture
