Experteer Overview In this role you will design, implement, and verify control software for advanced R&D equipment and complex machinery, contributing as a hands-on software engineer for mission-critical real-time systems. You collaborate with diverse engineers to integrate software with testbeds, hardware, and production tools, advancing tooling and processes across the company. Your work impacts cross-functional projects that support scalable, production-ready control solutions. This is a mission-driven opportunity to help accelerate fusion energy deployment with robust software. Compensation / Benefits * Design, implement, and verify control software for R&D equipment and complex machinery * Contribute as a hands-on, production-ready code author for real-time systems * Gather functional requirements from customers and translate them into software solutions * Integrate software into software and hardware testbeds and production tools * Develop control software across PLCs and real-time Linux platforms * Create operator interfaces and workflows * Improve tooling to boost developer velocity and enable new capabilities Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field * 5+ years of experience with industrial or embedded control systems * 5+ years of experience producing production-quality control software * Experience with modern SDLC practices (CI/CD, git, unit/integration testing) * Proficiency with Python * Proficiency with at least one real-time control language (C++, SCL/ST, Rust) * Willingness to travel or work nights/weekends/on-call * Safety-conscious mindset for hazardous environments Key requirements * Equity * 13 Company-wide Holidays * Flexible vacation days * 10 sick days * Generous parental leave policy * Health, dental, and vision insurance
