Job description

Experteer Overview As a Mainframe Developer, you will analyze requirements, design, build, and maintain batch and online mainframe applications. You will work closely with analysts and QA teams, delivering high-quality COBOL-based solutions in a fast-paced environment. You’ll troubleshoot production issues, perform impact analysis, and ensure code quality through reviews and adherence to standards. This role focuses on sustaining and enhancing critical IBM Mainframe systems, contributing to smooth production deployments and post-production support. Compensation / Benefits * Analyze business requirements and perform impact analysis * Design, develop, test, and maintain Mainframe applications * Develop and enhance programs using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL * Create and maintain batch jobs, procedures, and utilities * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and defects * Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards * Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders during SDLC * Support application deployments and postproduction activities * Prepare technical design and support documentation Tasks * Strong hands-on experience in COBOL * JCL * DB2 * VSAM * CICS * Experience in application development, enhancement, and production support * Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills * Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release processes * Experience with IBM Mainframe environments z/OS, TSO/ISPF Key requirements *
