Job description
· Lead hands-on development and sprint execution for complex Pega workflows, case types, rules, data objects, user experiences, reports, and integrations.
· Translate architecture and design direction into technical stories, development tasks, estimates, dependencies, and implementation sequencing.
· Coordinate day-to-day work across Pega developers and collaborate with System Architects, data/integration engineers, testers, and release personnel.
· Implement high-complexity features while promoting configuration-first patterns, reuse, guardrail compliance, modularity, and upgradeability.
· Conduct peer reviews of rules, configurations, custom extensions, unit tests, and technical documentation; identify and correct quality or maintainability issues.
· Mentor senior and mid-level developers in Pega patterns, debugging, performance, security, accessibility, and documentation practices.
· Support integration design, data mapping, role-based access, audit history, reporting, and operational behavior within assigned components.
· Lead technical defect triage, root-cause analysis, remediation, and regression support for complex development issues.
· Support sprint demonstrations, release readiness, deployment validation, post-deployment stabilization, and production support.
· Maintain technical documentation and provide transparent progress, risk, and dependency information to architecture and delivery leadership.
Requirements
· 8+ years of software or enterprise application development experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Pega development experience.
· Demonstrated experience leading the work of Pega developers while remaining an active contributor.
· Advanced knowledge of Pega case management, workflows, rules, data pages, integrations, user-interface configuration, security, reporting, and unit testing.
· Experience decomposing designs into technical stories and coordinating complex implementation across multiple sprints or components.
· Experience conducting Pega configuration or code reviews and enforcing guardrails, reuse, maintainability, and documentation standards.
· Strong troubleshooting, performance-analysis, defect-resolution, and root-cause-analysis skills.
· Experience with Agile delivery, CI/CD, version control, testing, release planning, and production support.
· Strong technical leadership, mentoring, written communication, and collaboration skills.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
· Pega Certified Senior System Architect certification is preferred; Lead System Architect certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
· Experience with Pega Cloud, Deployment Manager, PegaUnit, Scenario Testing, or Pega Diagnostic Center.
· Experience in Federal, financial, acquisition, health, or another regulated environment; VA experience is optional.
· Familiarity with Section 508, FedRAMP, Zero Trust, API integration, AI-enabled workflow, or performance tuning.
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CLEARANCE:
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
