Infrastructure Platform Engineering Lead

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Infrastructure Platform Engineering Lead to join our Infrastructure Engineering and Cloud Enablement organization. In this role, you will lead the transformation and expansion of a legacy automation function into a modern Infrastructure Platform Engineering (IPE) team. You’ll be responsible for building scalable, reusable platforms and tooling that enable technical teams to deliver faster, more reliably, and with consistency across environments.

This is a pivotal leadership position reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure Engineering and Cloud Enablement, with a mandate to modernize how infrastructure is provisioned, automated, and consumed across the enterprise.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and build the Infrastructure Platform Engineering (IPE) function with a focus on modern tooling, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and self-service.
• Own the design and implementation of infrastructure pipelines, reusable modules, and self-service platforms enabling consistent and cloud-inspired delivery of infrastructure across hosting platforms (VMware, OpenShift).
• Own the firm’s container platform (OpenShift), ensuring scalability, reliability, and ease of consumption for internal application teams.
• Establish coding, testing, and release standards for infrastructure automation artifacts.
• Oversee and evolve the use of Ansible as a modern platform for automation, orchestration, and configuration management.
• Lead Linux OS engineering, driving automation and standardization across the RHEL environment while ensuring alignment with enterprise security and compliance requirements.
• Partner with Cloud and Core Infrastructure teams to ensure platform solutions are scalable, secure, and support hybrid infrastructure patterns.
• Mentor a growing team of engineers and set the technical direction for platform capabilities, toolchain integration, and internal developer experiences.
• Contribute to the strategic roadmap for infrastructure modernization and enablement.

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
• Proven experience building or leading infrastructure platform teams in large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Ansible, with strong experience in automation across hybrid environments.
• Deep understanding of Linux OS engineering principles, including system configuration, automation, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Must-have experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes, including cluster deployment, configuration, and operations at scale.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
• Familiarity with VMware or VCF-based private cloud platforms and their integration with automation pipelines.
• Strong architectural skills and an ability to design scalable, reusable solutions.
• Ability to collaborate across traditional silos (cloud, network, compute, storage, security).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Exposure to cloud-native blueprints, service catalogs, internal developer platforms, or infrastructure self-service models.

The expected base salary ranges from $160k-$220k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
