Senior AI Platform Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will advise on and mature AI-enabled infrastructure for mission-focused environments. You will work closely with government leadership, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to design, integrate, and evaluate AI/ML platform options across cloud, hybrid, and enterprise deployments. You will assess readiness of compute, storage, identity, security, and observability factors to support AI workloads. This position offers the chance to shape secure AI platform modernization in government settings with Azure and AWS at the core, and to translate complex tech decisions into clear guidance for diverse audiences. Compensation / Benefits * Provide SETA support on AI platform architecture, integration, and sustainment * Advise on design and evaluation of AI/ML platform environments across cloud/hybrid/enterprise deployments * Support platform decisions involving Azure, AWS, Microsoft enterprise services, containers, data pipelines, and model hosting * Assess platform readiness for AI workloads including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, observability, and scalability * Evaluate vendor offerings, reference architectures, and tradeoffs * Develop architecture artifacts, white papers, and executive summaries * Coordinate with program managers, engineers, stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, and external partners * Identify integration risks, gaps, and mitigation strategies * Assist with transition planning from prototype to sustainable operations * Educate stakeholders on AI platform concepts and best practices in government contexts Tasks * Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience or Master’s with 10 years * Experience supporting AI/ML, data, cloud, or platform engineering in government/defense/enterprise environments * Familiarity with Microsoft and/or AWS platform ecosystems * Knowledge of cloud architecture, containers, APIs, data services, IAM, and secure system integration * Understanding of how AI applications depend on model hosting, pipelines, storage, orchestration, and monitoring * Ability to build, test, and explore tools independently * Passion for AI and platform modernization * Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and guide teams forward * Ability to translate complex issues for technical and non-technical audiences * Clearance TS/SCI w/CI Poly Key requirements * employer paid health insurance * 7% 401k contribution * comprehensive benefits package
