Job description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mainframe Cobol Developer to join Fiserv’s Office Core Processing team. You will bring to life the systems that power our credit card processing applications. Your will interact with cross-functional teams, including Application Development teams, Product Managers, Project Managers, Global Infrastructure Operations (GIO) resources, and Client/Partner IT resources. You will leverage your experience in mainframe development and support, particularly with COBOL, VSAM, JCL, and Batch processes. This role involves development, testing, and on-call production support. Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, VSAM, JCL and IBM Mainframe ZOS toolsets. Provide support for development and testing environments to ensure smooth application deployment. Provide on-call production support (rotational) for mainframe applications, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions. Utilize Broadcom tools (CA7, Endevor, etc.) for job scheduling, version control, and application management. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs. Conduct code reviews and participate in system testing to ensure high-quality deliverables. Document technical specifications and maintain detailed records of system configurations and changes. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in mainframe technologies and tools. Modern Stack will include, AI Awanress, AWS, Java, Postgres DB, Aurora DB, CICD.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of current experience in mainframe development and production support
  • 7+ years of experience in an IBM Mainframe environment - proficient with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and working with IBM Mainframe ZOS toolsets.
  • AWS (ECS,Lambda,EC2 etc) / GCP /Azure
