Job description

We are looking for a COBOL IMS DB/DC Software Developers to support a State Department of Human Services Mainframe system. This role involves developing and maintaining COBOL-based applications with IMS DB/DC expertise, as well as JCL development for IBM mainframe operating systems. An understanding of SQL and DB2 would also be beneficial. The ideal candidate will analyze, develop, test, and migrate source code, while documenting technical solutions and supporting quality assurance efforts.

o Develop and maintain COBOL IMS DB/DC applications for IBM mainframe operating systems.

o Provide Application Support Services to a customer’s legacy environment and contribute to modernization efforts.

o Analyze, develop, and test COBOL applications, ensuring seamless migration across technical environments. · Document technical solutions tailored to mainframe systems.

o Support quality control testing activities to maintain application integrity.

o Generate technical designs specific to mainframe environments.

o Address and resolve reported issues within source code promptly.

o Provide accurate estimates and timelines for assigned tasks.

o Prepare comprehensive status reports and project updates to keep stakeholders informed.

o Collaborate with team members and client business analysts to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

Bachelors’ degree with 10+ years of experience or a Master’s degree and 8 years of experience or a HS Diploma/equivalent and 12 years of experience

Demonstrated expertise in COBOL, IMS DB/DC, JCL, SQL, DB2 relation databases;

Proven track record of success in Developing and maintaining COBOL IMS DB/DC applications on the mainframe.

Designing, implementing, and managing JCL processes.

Benefits & conditions

Compensation: $60/hr to $65/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
