PhD position in Low-power IoT sensing at high frequency bandsWireless Networking GroupDeadline for receipt of applications: July 20th, **:59 AoE (21 July **, 13:59h)The IMDEA Networks Institute offers one fully funded PhD position in the area of Low-power IoT sensing at high frequency bands.The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing activities of the Wireless Networking Group, in the framework of MSCA SpecX Project.Research objectives:Low-power RF front?end design to monitor mm-wave spectrum for IoT communication and sensing applications with orders of magnitude less energy consumption than current solutions.Leverage large bandwidth at mm-wave to deploy several mm-wave IoT devices in dense deployments that can coexist for performing spectrum sensing.The position offers:- hands?on training in deploying and running experimental platforms- a unique opportunity to work with large-scale real?world measurement data- a vibrant, collaborative, multi?cultural and English?speaking environment- the prospect to publish at top?tier venues in networking- the high quality of life of the region of Madrid, Spain, where we are based.The position requires:- an MSc degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields, with a solid academic record- excellent programming skills- experience in signal processing, wireless communications, hands?on experience with hardware- fluency in written and spoken English- enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research.Eligibility Criteria:To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of recruitment:- Mobility Rule: Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.- Research Experience: Candidates must have less than 4 years of full-time research experience after obtaining the degree that gives access to a PhD.This position is funded from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. ****.IMDEA Networks Institute aims to increase the proportion of women and therefore qualified female applicants are explicitly encouraged to apply.Until a balanced ratio of men and women has been achieved at the institute, preference will be given to women if applicants have similar qualifications.IMDEA Networks Institute actively promotes diversity and equal opportunities.Applicants are not to be discriminated against in personnel selection procedures on the grounds of gender, ethnicity, religion or ideology, age, sexual orientation (anti?discrimination).People with disabilities who have the relevant qualifications are expressly invited to apply.#J-***-Ljbffr
