Job description

Cary, NC Target Financial Services/Fintech Backgrounds: Job Description: QA Automation Engineer (5 7 Years Experience) Core Technologies: Java, TypeScript, Playwright, Cucumber (BDD), Selenium, REST & SOAP APIs, Jenkins (CI/CD), GitHub Copilot, We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Team member (Lead/Senior/Mid) to architect and build a new, common automation platform from scratch. This team will focus on delivering a unified, scalable End-to-End (E2E) Automation Engine to support 13+ modernization teams. Using Java and TypeScript, you will build a greenfield platform covering both UI and API automation, leveraging GitHub Copilot and Jenkins to drive high-speed delivery across the organization. Core Responsibilities

End-to-End Regression Framework Modernization:
Architect and build a brand-new, unified Java and TypeScript automation platform from the ground up to support both UI (Playwright/Selenium) and API testing requirements across 13+ teams.
Establish modern CI/CD patterns within Jenkins and utilize AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot to accelerate framework construction and test authoring.
Trade & Order Management Validation:
Automate core order lifecycle workflows: Create Modify Cancel Execute.
Validate institutional OMS order validation rules, post-trade processing, downstream clearing/settlement integrations, and regulatory reporting platforms.
Cross-Platform & API State Comparison Testing:
Design and execute API-driven automated tests (REST/SOAP) to validate workflows routed through Director pattern architectures.
Conduct state comparison and data validation across coexisting legacy systems (Mainframe/DB2 via SOAP service layers) and modern cloud/microservice platforms.
Quality Visibility & Metrics:
Enhate existing test reporting dashboards to track test coverage, execution stability, and business capability regression metrics across 100% of functional trading areas.

Day-to-Day Job Responsibilities

Automate manual test cases and execute automated regression suites across UI, API, SOAP, and database layers.
Run daily automation tests, analyze execution logs, and effectively report bugs to minimize defect leakage.
Review and assess existing test suites to identify gaps and areas for automation expansion.
Maintain existing automation scripts to adapt to UI, web service, and database changes.
Collaborate with developers and senior QA members to ensure consistent and low-flakiness execution results.

Requirements

Preferred Domain Experience: Equities and Options trading workflows or Order Management Systems. Summary, * 5 7 years of professional experience in QA automation engineering.

Strong foundational knowledge of Java programming.
Hands-on experience writing automated tests using Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber.
Practical experience testing and automating REST APIs and SOAP web services.
SQL knowledge with experience querying DB2 databases for test data verification.
Solid understanding of regression testing principles and test case execution.
Ability to analyze automated test results and troubleshoot basic script failures.
