Job description

  • Design and implement a new Snowflake-based data platform for inventory and position data.
  • Lead and execute migration of data and dependencies from KDB+ to Snowflake, including data modeling and access controls.
  • Optimize database performance, conduct testing, and manage version upgrades across platforms.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and distribution services on cloud platforms.
  • Partner with Liase and business stakeholders to review data flows, controls, and onboarding into Snowflake.
  • Support existing KDB+ stack for the Delta1 Structured Products team and ensure platform resiliency.
  • Operate within Agile practices and deliver solutions with a best-tool-for-the-job mindset.

Requirements

We are seeking a General Database Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in RDBMS performance optimization, data engineering, and cloud data platforms and a proven ability to design and migrate enterprise time-series and transactional data workloads to Snowflake while sustaining existing KDB+ solutions., * Intermediate knowledge of development and performance tuning on major RDBMS technologies.

  • Scripting proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and version control systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Data modeling concepts and experience with ETL products.
  • Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.
  • Exposure to KDB+/q or a willingness to learn.
  • Understanding of financial data domains such as inventory, securities lending/borrow, prime brokerage, or position data.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum settings.
