While generative AI offers transformative potential for reasoning over complex clinical datasets, its deployment in safety-critical medical environments is currently hindered by "hallucinations," inherent cognitive biases, and lack of expert-level validation. The primary objective of R-LLM4HEALTH is to bridge the gap between raw AI capabilities and the rigorous safety requirements of the healthcare sector. The research line focuses on engineering a robust Uncertainty Logic solution to quantify model confidence and mitigate erroneous outputs in real-time. The postdoctoral fellow will work on:Developing privacy-preserving LLM architecturestailored for clinical data mining.Designing Uncertainty Logic frameworksto detect, flag, and mitigate hallucinations during the interpretation of Electronic Health Records (EHR).Validating technical guardrailsthrough expert-led benchmarks to ensure alignment with clinical safety protocols.By integrating advanced reasoning mechanisms and rigorous software engineering principles, the project seeks to transform LLMs into trustworthy assistants for healthcare professionals.
