Job description

Experteer Overview As Principal Data Scientist in Pricing Algorithms, you will shape pricing strategies to optimize profitability at scale. You’ll lead a team of data scientists and partner with cross-functional teams to deploy advanced ML-driven pricing models. The role combines forecasting, optimization, and experimentation to drive revenue growth and competitive advantage. You’ll influence pricing decisions through rigorous analysis and stakeholder collaboration, contributing to Walmart Global Tech’s AI-driven pricing initiatives. Compensation / Benefits * Strategic leadership for pricing optimization initiatives, defining vision and roadmap * Design, development, and deployment of advanced pricing algorithms using ML * Code review and mentorship to improve code quality and performance * Data analysis of customer and market dynamics to inform pricing * Model evaluation, validation, and robust testing of pricing models * Cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, marketing, and finance to translate needs into data-driven solutions * Thought leadership on pricing methodologies and emerging technologies * Documentation of methodologies and findings; clear communication to non-technical stakeholders * Mentorship and knowledge sharing within the team Tasks * Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field is stated as preferred; extensive experience (8+ years) in data science and pricing optimization is required * 8+ years in data science, ML, and statistical analysis with focus on pricing optimization * Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala for data analysis and model development * Strong understanding of pricing concepts and strategies across industries * Hands-on experience with ML algorithms and pricing problem applications * Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams * Ability to drive projects from concept to completion in a fast-paced environment Key requirements * 401(k) match * Stock purchase plan * Paid maternity and parental leave * PTO and health plans * Life insurance * Bonus potential
