Job description

Experteer Overview As Staff Spacecraft Systems Responsible Engineer, you own the end-to-end definition, integration, and delivery of the spacecraft bus for the Interplanetary Sciences Program. You will ensure spacecraft-level requirements and performance budgets are defined, tracked, and met throughout the mission lifecycle, interfacing with mission payloads. You’ll collaborate across internal teams and external bus providers, covering design, procurement, integration, test, launch, and operations. This role blends systems engineering, vendor management, and hands-on mission execution, offering high ownership and impact. Compensation / Benefits * Define and manage end-to-end spacecraft bus requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets (power, mass, thermal, comm, etc.). * Coordinate cross-functional teams and external spacecraft bus providers across design, procurement, integration, test, launch, and operations. * Lead system-level integration and verification activities and ensure mission success through lifecycle stages. Tasks * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline * 7+ years of spacecraft or satellite systems engineering, integration, or mission design experience * Proven ability to manage complex systems across multiple vendors and customers * Strong understanding of spacecraft subsystems (power, thermal, comms, ADCS, propulsion) and their interdependencies * Experience leading cross-functional teams through integration and test, launch campaigns, or mission operations * Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with ability to interface across technical and programmatic boundaries Key requirements * competitive salary and equity * generous PTO and sick leave * parental leave * annual learning and development stipend
