Application Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will develop engineered solutions and quotations for custom workholding and related mechanical systems. You will work with sales teams and customers to translate requirements into technically sound proposals that fit manufacturing capabilities. You will perform calculations, CAD design, and documentation to support profitable, safe solutions aligned with company standards. You’ll drive early technical influence and ensure timely, well-supported bids that advance customer outcomes and business goals. This opportunity combines hands-on engineering with customer-facing activity in a collaborative environment. Compensation / Benefits * Collaborate with Inside/Regional Sales and customers to understand application needs and deliver technical solutions * Analyze product specs and requirements to design solutions compatible with existing manufacturing processes * Prepare detailed proposals, quotations, and supporting documentation for engineered workholding and related mechanical solutions * Serve as a technical expert presenting products and solutions to customers and stakeholders * Create concept drawings, perform calculations, and develop CAD designs to meet project requirements * Maintain and organize engineering CAD files and data for accuracy and traceability * Evaluate applications with customers, identify improvements, and provide timely feedback and recommendations * Estimate and record cost, selling price, and delivery dates, and generate bids in the ERP system * Determine risk for custom tooling and limit exposure to unsafe or unprofitable solutions * Support CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards Tasks * Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent (Mechanical/Manufacturing) * 3-5 years of related corporate experience * Strong mechanical design experience and familiarity with engineered solutions * Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software * Ability to read blueprints and GD&T * Experience in quoting, proposals, and cost estimation * Ability to use measuring equipment to verify dimensions * Committed to continuous learning and knowledge sharing * Quality-focused with ability to monitor work and implement improvements * Strategic thinking, planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills * High ethical standards and alignment with organizational values Key requirements * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) Retirement Plan - pre-tax and Roth * Life Insurance (employee and dependents) * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account (HSA) * Time Off/Leave (PTO, vacation, sick)
