Job description

Squarepoint is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Core Specialist to architect, develop, optimize and secure scalable networks for Datacenter, Campus and Cloud infrastructures.

The Network Core Specialist is part of a team that work closely with stakeholders, software engineers and other infrastructure teams to design enterprise network solutions that align with Squarepoint business objectives in a timely manner and ensure high availability and performance.

  • Design and implement scalable, highly available and deterministic network solutions in a multi-vendor enterprise environments (LAN, WAN, DC, Campus and Cloud).
  • Translate business requirements into technical network architectures.
  • Provide details and professional documentation, including diagrams.
  • Project delivery/management collaborating with internal and external vendors.
  • Select software and hardware components based on technical and business requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network performance, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance to Network reliability team to ensure proper implementation and support.
  • Provide L3 escalation support to remediate performance and availability issues.
  • Identify areas of improvements adopting automation and innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Network engineering, Computer Science, or related Information Technology discipline
  • CCNP certification or higher (CCIE preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in network engineering and project delivery, with a strong track record of successful project execution.
  • Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols
  • Routing: OSPF, BGP, EVPN
  • Multicast: PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP, SSM
  • Switching: STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN
  • Monitoring: LANZ, Sflow, Kibana, Prometheus
  • Security: AAA (RadiTACACS), control planes, device hardening
  • Experience with Arista / Cisco
  • Datacenter/office network infrastructure buildout experienc
  • Experience with network diagnostic and performance tools - netcat, tcptrace, wireshark, etc.
  • Proficient with Cisco’s Unified Communication, Collaboration products and Voice technologies
  • In depth knowledge in cybersecurity solutions: Palo Alto, Fortinet
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions: AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure
  • Strong scripting and automation experience - Git, Python and Ansible preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring/orchestration tools as Prometheus, CVP, Elastic and Grafana.

Benefits & conditions

The minimum base salary for this role is $120,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions. Successful candidates’ compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
