Director, Payer Technology Optum Advisory - Remote

Experteer Overview As Director, you lead delivery and solution architecture for complex payer-focused engagements within Optum Advisory. You guide cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders to achieve measurable client outcomes. You will apply AI-enabled approaches to improve solutioning, delivery, and reusable capabilities while moving engagements from concept to final implementation. This role offers high-impact work at scale within a mission-driven organization that enhances health data flow and payer-provider alignment. You will work remotely with a focus on delivering value and growth. Compensation / Benefits * Provide delivery leadership or business solution architecture on complex engagements * Lead matrixed client and consulting teams across business, technology, operations, and executives * Apply AI-enabled solutions to improve delivery, insights, and innovation * Define end-to-end solution scope, future-state processes, and technical reference architecture * Diagnose business and technology issues and propose practical strategic solutions * Build alignment among stakeholders for solution adoption and value realization * Produce high-quality client deliverables and materials independently * Coach and develop team members and review workstreams for quality * Serve as day-to-day client contact with executive-ready updates and presentations * Manage project economics, quality standards, and delivery practices * Demonstrate relationship management and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics * Contribute to practice advancement through business development and reusable assets Tasks * 8+ years in management consulting with healthcare payer focus * 5+ years in Healthcare payer domain (claims, provider, finance, enrollment & eligibility, billing, utilization management) * 5+ years leading large-scale engagements or internal programs in client-facing roles * 3+ years Agile development methodology experience (Capability Management and PI planning) * 3+ years of presenting to clients and senior executives * Proven experience in two+ large-scale core admin system implementations or migrations * Experience using AI-enabled tools to boost productivity * Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) * Proficient with MS Copilot * Experience guiding teams on responsible AI tool use and enterprise standards * Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% Key requirements * comprehensive benefits package * incentive and recognition programs * equity stock purchase * 401k contribution * remote work flexibility
