Senior Engineering Manager, AI Intelligent Database Management

Experteer Overview In this role, you lead and grow an engineering org focused on agentic infrastructure and autonomous database operations. You will mentor senior leaders, oversee multiple teams, and drive the Virtual DBA initiative from concept to production-ready automation. You collaborate with architects to build secure, scalable AI-powered platforms and deliver developer and user tools that visualize autonomous agent states. This role blends leadership with hands-on influence over strategic product and platform work, shaping how databases are managed at scale using AI. Compensation / Benefits * Direct and mentor Engineering Managers, architects, and backend platform engineers across multiple teams * Lead the execution of Virtual DBA, enabling autonomous, policy-defined fleet operations from Day 0 to Day 2 * Partner with architects to design secure, production-grade agentic infrastructure on Google Cloud * Oversee delivery of developer and user tools, ensuring autonomous agent states are visible in the Command Center * Oversee development of VS Code extensions, Agent Registries, and Skills Registries Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience * 8 years of software development experience * 5 years of software product testing/launch experience * 3 years in software design and architecture * 5 years in a people management or leadership role * 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques or related concepts Key requirements * bonus target * equity * benefits
