Senior Network Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will design, implement, and secure enterprise network infrastructure for a federal customer, applying Cisco technologies and DISA STIG guidelines. You’ll lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and operate in secure, dynamic environments. You’ll tackle complex routing, switching, VOIP, and encryption challenges, coordinating across cybersecurity, systems engineering, and facilities teams. This position offers impactful work at scale in mission-critical operations. Compensation / Benefits * Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure * Plan and deploy standardized configurations across enterprise switching environments * Lead migration efforts from End-of-Life devices * Design, deploy, and manage network access control and authentication services * Implement and maintain DISA STIG hardening guidelines and security compliance standards * Support deployment and integration of encryption devices and manage cryptographic equipment imports * Assist with fiber optic cabling installations, upgrades, and connectivity troubleshooting * Design and implement IP subnetting strategies and IP address management solutions * Monitor and respond to incidents through internal ticketing systems while providing Tier III network support * Travel to remote locations to deploy network infrastructure and extend enterprise services * Troubleshoot complex networking issues (routing protocols, L2 switching, VOIP, Layer 1 cabling) * Utilize SolarWinds and other monitoring tools to proactively monitor performance and generate reports * Configure and maintain environmental monitoring systems in data centers * Develop and maintain SOPs, technical documents, and runbooks * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers * Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and facilities teams to ensure reliable network operations Tasks * 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in complex environments * Experience implementing DISA STIGs and secure network configurations in federal environments * Knowledge of enterprise network security principles and best practices * Experience supporting VOIP technologies and troubleshooting telecommunications issues * Ability to read and understand network diagrams and infrastructure schematics * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Active TS/SCI or Q/SCI clearance * 16+ years with HS Diploma or equivalent educational path acceptance per ad Key requirements * salary range provided * overtime eligibility (where applicable) * shift differential (where applicable) * discretionary bonus (where applicable) * opportunities for travel * benefits typical of federal contractor roles
