Job description
Provide technical leadership to a team responsible for engineering and supporting Metro-Ethernet Connectivity Services with a focus on Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) compliant services, Cloud Services, and their integration with the Metro-E product suite; use routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and ISIS; work within a Layer 2 Switch environment and protocols with technologies including VLAN EPL, EVPL, ENS, and VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service) in a MPLS routed environment; test circuits and services via Y.1564, and RFC2544 for Jitter, Latency, and Frame Loss; responsible for testing and certifying new metro ethernet products and their equipment; serve as a subject matter expert in vendor configurations used for services; conduct hands-on lab testing and certification of services and equipment; create documentation for rollouts of services and equipment; perform life cycle of Metro-E documentation, including Method of Procedure and release procedures; work with Amazon Web

Services (AWS) and Azure Cloud strategy; work with Ethernet and IP services; support WAVE services; perform Network Automation and Network Virtualization for commercial services; evaluate, design, deploy and support large scale Software Defined Networking/Network Functions Virtualization (SDN/NFV) environments; evaluate, design, and deploy Next Generation Network (NGN) products and service delivery; work with larger enterprise services, including Internet Protocol (IP) and Virtual Private Network (VPN), and manage Firewall services; manage services for customer network implementations; design and deploy complex data networks in the Midsize, Enterprise and Government sectors; support network metrics and performance analysis; work within Agile and Scrum methodologies; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.
***REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience using routing protocols including BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), and IS-IS (Intermediate System to Intermediate System); working within a Layer 2 Switch environment and protocols with technologies including VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network), and VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service) in a MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) routed environment; and testing circuits and services via RFC2544 for Jitter, Latency, and Frame Loss; of which three (3) years include engineering and supporting Metro-Ethernet Connectivity Services including Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) compliant services, and their integration with the Metro-E product suite; working within a Layer 2 Switch environment and protocols with technologies including EPL (Ethernet Private Line), EVPL (Ethernet Virtual Private Line), and ENS (Ethernet Network Service) in a MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) routed environment; and testing circuits and services via Y.1564 for Jitter, Latency, and Frame Loss.
