Senior Staff Engineer, Hardware Design

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead complex PCB layout from schematic through manufacturing, collaborating with hardware, power, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to meet signal integrity, thermal, and mechanical constraints. You will enhance design guidelines, participate in design reviews, and mentor junior staff. You will work on high-density 12-28+ layer boards, optimize PDN and EMI/EMC compliance, and ensure robust manufacturability. Compensation / Benefits * Lead layout, routing and component placement for high-density multi-layer PCBs (12-28+ layers) * Route high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits under complex constraints (impedance, length matching, differential pairs) * Collaborate with Power Design Team to implement PDN and address voltage drop and thermal targets * Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineers to optimize form factor and thermal management * Ensure designs meet DFx guidelines (DFM, DFA, DFT) and are manufacturable * Generate and manage manufacturing release packages (Gerber/ODB++ files, fabrication/assembly drawings, BOM) * Apply IPC standards and EMI/EMC/safety compliance in layouts * Lead layout design reviews and mentor junior designers * Engage in customer and project reviews, providing technical feedback and planning input * Maintain and promote internal best practices in layout design Tasks * 10+ years of PCB layout and design experience in enterprise/high-performance hardware * Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience) * Expert-level proficiency with Cadence Allegro (22.x and up) * Strong knowledge of SI/PI, impedance control, length matching, and differential routing * Experience with blind/buried vias, HDI, and high-density interconnects * Understanding of PCB fabrication and PCBA assembly processes * Familiarity with IPC standards and EMI/EMC requirements * Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment * Excellent communication skills for cross-functional interaction and customer/vendor engagement * Experience with designing PDN and thermal management for high-current hardware Key requirements *
