Job description

We are seeking a Database Administrator to provide production support for multiple database platforms (Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Sybase Replication, Postgres, Hadoop, MSSQL, MongoDB, Oracle) infrastructure globally. This is a fully onsite role at our Salt Lake City office requiring flexibility for weekend shifts. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide alert resolution, provisioning activities, and support for user requests
  • Support database implementation, migrations, lifecycle upgrades, and capacity planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, application, and infrastructure teams

Requirements

  • 3 5 years of experience in Database Administration
  • 3 5 years of hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and/or DB2
  • 3 5 years of experience supporting database/data center migrations
  • Strong understanding of database administration tasks, troubleshooting, performance analysis, SQL, database architecture, and upgrades/migrations
  • 3 5 years of experience with job scheduling tools (Autosys, cron, bash scripting)
  • Ability to follow and execute runbooks in a production environment
  • 3 5 years of experience working in Linux environments (primarily RHEL)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a highly dynamic, globally-focused work environment

Nice-to-Have:

  • Exposure to additional databases (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
