Senior Data Scientist - Authentication

Experteer Overview In this role you will help shape the Authentication & Security roadmap using data science to improve sign-up, login, and account-recovery flows. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to translate friction points into product decisions and measure impact on engagement and retention. The role sits at a high-stakes intersection of trust, product, and growth, where small improvements can significantly affect sign-ups and user safety. You will contribute to safer, more civil experiences for Roblox’s global community. This is a chance to influence critical product areas at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Shape Authentication & Security roadmaps with data science guidance across account creation, login, account recovery, and protection features * Identify and size high-impact levers to improve authentication success and reduce account takeovers * Design and evaluate feature experiments across sign-up, login, and account-recovery funnels * Quantify tradeoffs between security friction and user protection and assess impact on engagement and retention * Develop evaluation metrics and labeling strategies to strengthen security detection models * Partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, and UX Research to clarify ambiguous problems * Translate friction points into actionable product recommendations * Communicate insights to leadership and cross-functional partners to drive prioritization and tradeoffs Tasks * 5+ years of industry experience in data science, analytics, or ML engineering * 2+ years experience with Python or R and big data tools (SQL, Hive, Spark, Airflow) * Knowledge of ML and Deep Learning * Ability to apply first-principles reasoning to ambiguous problems * Experience developing large-scale safety or moderation systems and familiarity with user-generated content * Advanced Degree and/or PhD in Statistics, CS, Physics, Applied Math, Economics, or related quantitative field Key requirements * equity compensation * base pay with factors-based variation * benefits described on page
