Performance Engineer

This opportunity is with a large scale materials manufacturer operating a high security, ITAR controlled production facility in Hemlock, Michigan. The site produces advanced materials used in solar and semiconductor applications and is currently in a performance improvement and operational turnaround phase, making this a chance to help shape how the plant measures and improves output. • Operator performance tracking program development

What You’ll Do

• Build, manage, and optimize operator performance tracking programs
• Analyze production and operator performance data to find improvement opportunities
• Support performance incentive and payout programs tied to operator metrics
• Build, modify, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
• Interpret manufacturing data and recommend actions to improve productivity
• Partner with IT to enhance reporting and visualization tools
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms
• Document reporting processes and data definitions for ongoing support
• Help standardize metrics and reporting structures across teams
• Provide insights based on data analysis to support operational improvements

• Manufacturing engineering background
• Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, or similar analytics and reporting tools
• Ability to build or modify dashboards
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
• Comfortable working with manufacturing process data and performance metrics

Preferred / Bonus

• Experience in paper manufacturing
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and machine or process data
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
• Experience in startup or manufacturing turnaround environments
• Familiarity with SQL
