Job description
Provide expertise in Epic Patient Access applications (including Cadence and Prelude) for product function, design, build, and testing.
- Collaborate with end users to design, configure, and enhance the Epic system to meet workflow needs.
- Work closely with Patient Access teams to build and improve scheduling, registration, admission, authorization, and patient throughput workflows.
- Lead medium to large Epic software upgrades or enhancements, managing the design, build, and testing phases.
- Mentor team members on Epic system functionality, workflows, documentation, best practices, and change management.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Epic Patient Access modules and workflows.
- Participate in system design and validation sessions, ensuring proper documentation and issue follow-up/escalation.
- Identify optimization and enhancement opportunities; collaborate with vendors and IT analysts to implement solutions.
- Provide application incident support, including on-call coverage as needed.
- Configure and build visit types, work queues, registration forms, referral templates, and provider records.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Epic software functionality and related operational workflows.
- Analyze workflows, data collection, reporting, and technical issues related to Epic software.
- Assist trainers in developing and maintaining training curriculum and materials for the application.
- Adhere to organizational standards for system configuration and change management.
- Foster strong relationships with end users, business partners, and customers.
- Actively participate in facility meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication from requirements gathering through implementation.

Requirements
4+ years of healthcare experience.
- Active/current Epic Cadence certification.
- 4+ years of direct experience in healthcare domains (patient flow, scheduling, registration, eligibility, insurance verification, etc.).
- 4+ years as a subject matter expert in relevant applications.

Experience with Decision Trees. Preferred Skills:
- 2+ years of demonstrated team management, leadership, and cross-team communication experience.
- Active/current Epic certification in Prelude or Referrals.
- Completion of Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education).
- 4+ years of knowledge of policies and procedures related to operational functions.
