Optical System Architect

Experteer Overview In this role, you will lead the architecture and design of advanced DWDM/OTN optical systems to meet demanding network requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate market and customer needs into architecture and specifications. You drive the end-to-end lifecycle from concept to implementation, shaping next-generation optical networking solutions. Compensation / Benefits * Define and manage system requirements for fault, configuration, performance, and equipment management in carrier-grade networks * Translate business and customer needs into comprehensive system architectures and technical specifications * Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate new feature requests and develop innovative solutions * Develop high-quality architectural documentation and requirements for equipment, modules, power, and facility management * Coordinate with system, hardware, software, and verification teams to ensure alignment across design, implementation, and validation * Review customer-facing docs for accuracy and alignment with architecture and workflows * Collaborate with Product Line Management to map requirements to product objectives Tasks * Expertise in optical networking technologies (DWDM, OTN), equipment management, network provisioning, infrastructure, power, and facility management systems * Proven ability to define and manage system requirements for Fault, Configuration, Performance, and Equipment Management * Experience translating business, customer, and operational requirements into system architectures and specifications * Familiarity with CLI, YANG data models, model-driven management frameworks * Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and AI-SDLC in Agile environments * Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences * Proven ability to work in cross-functional, global teams Key requirements *
