Job description
Join the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC) as a full-stack React/.NET C# Developer and play a pivotal role in modernizing legal case data access for Idaho’s courts. Work onsite in Boise, ID, building a robust, user-centric case data portal leveraging a modern .NET and AWS stack. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to impactful solutions in the public sector while advancing your technical expertise., Design, develop, and maintain scalable front-end components using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Build and enhance secure, high-performance RESTful APIs with C# and ASP.NET Core (.NET 6/8)
- Integrate and consume APIs (REST, and optionally SOAP) for seamless data exchange between systems
- Implement and maintain robust unit and integration tests using NUnit and RestSharp
- Develop serverless functions and workflows in AWS Lambda (C#), leveraging AWS SDKs such as Secrets Manager and SES
- Utilize containerization tools like Docker and Docker Compose for local development and deployment
- Apply security best practices for AWS environments, including IAM, secure secrets management, and data protection
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvements

Requirements
4+ years building modern, component-based UIs with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- 4+ years proficiency in C# and the .NET 6/8 ecosystem
- 4+ years experience developing RESTful APIs with ASP.NET Core
- Demonstrated ability with dependency injection and asynchronous programming (async/await)
- 4+ years integrating and consuming REST APIs (controllers, attributes, model validation)
- 2+ years writing and maintaining unit/integration tests (NUnit, RestSharp)
- 2+ years working with JSON (System.Text.Json, Newtonsoft.Json)
- 3+ years developing AWS Lambda (C#), deploying with Amazon.Lambda.Tools, using AWS SDKs
- 3+ years understanding serverless patterns and architecture
- 2+ years containerization experience (Docker, Docker Compose)
- 4+ years using Git for source control
- 4+ years working with Visual Studio

2+ years applying AWS security best practices (IAM, Secrets Manager, data protection) [Preferred Skills]
- Experience with SOAP APIs (XML parsing, HttpClient, XmlSerializer)
- Familiarity with OpenSearch
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation
- Experience with Postman or Yakk for manual API testing
- Knowledge of application security practices (OWASP Top 10, API authentication/authorization)
