Job description

Design, develop, configure, and support HL7 interfaces between Epic and third-party healthcare systems. Integrate systems such as laboratory, clinical, and ancillary applications with Epic. Develop and maintain interfaces using Cloverleaf or other integration engines such as Mirth or Rhapsody. Analyze interface requirements, workflows, and data mapping specifications. Troubleshoot interface errors, message failures, and integration issues. Perform interface testing, validation, and deployment across environments. Work closely with Epic analysts, application teams, vendors, and clinical stakeholders. Monitor interface performance and ensure reliable data exchange. Document interface specifications, configurations, mappings, and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Epic Integration Engineer to support the integration of third-party healthcare systems with Epic EHR, including laboratory and other clinical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing, configuring, testing, and supporting HL7 interfaces and healthcare integrations.

The client is considering Cloverleaf as the primary integration engine, but candidates with hands-on experience using other integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or similar tools are also encouraged to apply., Hands-on experience as an Epic Integration Engineer / Interface Engineer. Strong experience with HL7 interfaces and healthcare system integrations. Experience integrating third-party systems with Epic, preferably laboratory systems. Experience with an integration engine such as: Cloverleaf - preferred Mirth Connect Rhapsody Similar healthcare integration engines Strong understanding of HL7 messaging, interface workflows, mapping, and troubleshooting. Experience with interface testing, implementation, and production support. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
