Job description

Experteer Overview As a Systems Engineer in Anduril’s Tactical Recon & Strike division, you will shape safety-critical, high-performance defense systems from Altius to Ghost. You’ll drive architectural design, define verification strategies, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver capability milestones. You’ll apply rigorous system analyses to ensure reliability, safety, and interoperability in demanding environments. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to advance autonomous robotics and propulsion technologies that empower mission success. Compensation / Benefits * Drive system-level thinking and capabilities for core products (Altius, Anvil, Bolt, Ghost) * Collaborate with product leads to scope, staff, and deliver capabilities to milestones * Guide architectural design for safety, reliability, usability, modularity, upgradability, maintainability, and diagnosability * Define system and subsystem requirements with risk reduction and verification/validation strategies * Lead System Hazard Analyses (SHAs) and FME(C)As to enforce safety-centric requirements * Coordinate and execute tests from in-lab simulations to flight tests * Apply defense standards (STANAG, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-1901A, JOTPs) * Demonstrate ownership as a technical partner across the organization * Align requirements with capability roadmap to enable rapid iteration * Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and inefficiencies * Lead complex technical initiatives across multiple programs autonomously Tasks * Degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field * 5+ years in defense or safety-critical industry with related analyses and verification strategies * Proven experience applying engineering standards in processes * Self-starter with ownership from risk identification to closure * Experience writing verifiable requirements at system, subsystem, and hardware/software levels * Experience with safety & reliability analyses (PHAs, SHAs, FME(C)As, FTAs) * Experience with systems engineering and Python * Familiarity with modern software development practices and test/release processes * Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, current probes) and test automation * Comfort with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and problem-solving * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Willingness to travel for field tests up to 25% * Eligible for active Secret U.S. security clearance Key requirements *
