Job description

Experteer Overview As a Systems Engineer in Anduril’s Tactical Recon & Strike division, you lead the technical direction for high-profile defense products, spanning electrical and systems engineering with safety-critical focus. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, modular, and verifiable designs that meet mission requirements. You’ll drive risk reduction, safety analyses, and test activities across systems and subsystems. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with fast-paced delivery in a cutting-edge defense environment. Compensation / Benefits * Drive systems thinking and capabilities for core Anduril products (Altius, Anvil, Bolt, Ghost) * Collaborate with product leads and business lines to scope, staff, and deliver capabilities * Shape architecture for safety, reliability, usability, modularity, upgradability, maintainability, and diagnosability * Define system and subsystem requirements with risk reduction and verification/validation strategies * Lead System Hazard Analyses (SHAs) and FME(C)As to drive safety-centric requirements * Coordinate and execute tests from in-lab simulations to flight tests * Apply industry and defense standards for safety and interoperability (STANAG, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-1901A, JOTPs) * Own technical direction and act as trusted partner to engineers and leaders across the organization * Ensure requirements tie to capability roadmap for rapid iteration and development * Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and inefficiencies * Autonomously lead complex technical initiatives across multiple programs Tasks * Degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field * 5+ years in defense or safety-critical industry with safety-critical development standards * Proficiency applying engineering standards to processes * Self-starter with ownership of tasks and risks from start to closure * Experience writing verifiable requirements at system, subsystem, and software/hardware levels * Experience performing safety & reliability analyses (PHAs, SHAs, FME(C)As, FTAs) * Experience with systems and Python * Familiarity with modern software development practices, unit/integration testing, and release processes * Competence with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers like JTAG/SWD, current probes) and test automation * Comfort with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and challenging problems * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Willingness to travel for test field events up to 25% * Eligible to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. security clearance Key requirements * equity grants * top-tier benefits * health and recovery support * competitive compensation package * opportunity to work on high-impact defense programs * career growth in a mission-driven company
